Psychedelic Somatic Institute sits in the more clinician-led, body-based end of psychedelic training: serious, intimate, and explicitly apprenticeship-driven rather than mass-market. Its appeal is strongest for experienced therapists who want a relational, somatic model for complex developmental trauma, especially where ketamine or cannabis can be used legally and clinically. Applicants are expected to have a graduate degree in psychology or an alternative psychotherapy-oriented certification, relevant licensure or certification, and at least two years of experience working with clients in a mental health context. The institute also considers professional motivation and the population served.
The programme issues a Certificate of Completion after Parts A, B, and C, and a Certificate of Mastery after additional observation and supervision requirements. It does not currently provide NBCC CEUs.
The apprenticeship is split into paid components: Part A costs $3,899 USD, Part B $1,949.50 USD, Part C $2,400 USD, and optional Part D $1,500 USD. Payment plans are available; the institute also states that it does not provide accommodations for in-person training and charges an additional non-local training fee in some European locations.
Learners receive a Certificate of Completion, and, with further observation and supervision, may earn a Certificate of Mastery that the institute says vouches for demonstrated PSIP skill. The training is designed to develop competency in PSIP, including experiential medicine work, theory, supervised practice, and case presentation.
