Under Professor Daniele Zullino, HUG treats depression and PTSD with psilocybin, LSD, and MDMA, and hosts one of five university-affiliated psychedelic research laboratories in Switzerland.
Geneva University Hospital looks less like a commercial training provider and more like a serious academic-medicinal centre that happens to be clinically active in psychedelics. Its reputation in this space is strongest for specialist, hospital-based work under Professor Daniele Zullino, with a visible emphasis on regulated care, research, and professional dialogue rather than mass-market training. If you are looking for a clinician-facing, evidence-led environment with Swiss institutional credibility, it is a credible name; if you want a stand-alone public course business, that is not really what HUG appears to be.
Best suited to licensed clinicians, psychologists and researchers who want to understand or engage with psychedelic-assisted therapy in a Swiss hospital context. It is less clearly aimed at the general public as a training offer, and more at professionals working in mental health or addiction services.
For the psychedelic psychotherapy service itself, HUG states you must already be in therapeutic follow-up with a psychiatrist or psychotherapist. For any training offer, the public-facing HUG pages found here do not set out a dedicated psychedelic training entry requirement, so none can be stated confidently beyond professional interest and, in some HUG education pages, staff or healthcare-professional targeting.
HUG’s psychedelic-related material includes a professional symposium with continuing education credits: the 24 to 25 October 2025 ALPS conference at HUG awarded 14 FSP credits for psychologists and 10 SGPP credits for physicians. More broadly, HUG states that its continuing education offer is open to professionals in health and social care, but I did not find a dedicated accredited psychedelic course page or a standalone certification on the HUG site.
I did not find published tuition for a psychedelic training course. The closest cost information on the HUG site is for treatment rather than training: psychotherapy and examinations are covered by basic insurance minus deductible and co-payment, while the psychedelic substance costs are charged to the patient and vary by molecule and dose, for example LSD, psilocybine and MDMA price ranges are listed on the service page.
For the clinical service, the outcome is access to an institutionally supervised psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy pathway within a hospital setting. For education, the clearest outcome evidenced on the site is continuing professional development through events and HUG’s broader training ecosystem, rather than a named psychedelic qualification.
