Blossom’s read

Experiential Training Institute is a Netherlands-based psychedelic practitioner school and retreat provider with a clinically grounded, highly experiential style. It sits in the more professionalised end of the field: best for therapists, coaches and health professionals who want structured psilocybin training with real retreat immersion, rather than a loose introductory course. Its notable lineage is the co-founding team of Jeanine Souren, a clinical psychologist and sexologist, and Hans van Wechem, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, who previously worked together at Field Trip Health in Amsterdam.

Who is Experiential Training Institute for?

Best suited to mental health professionals, therapists, coaches and medical practitioners who want to build supervised psychedelic-care skills and understand the work from both participant and facilitator perspectives. Its retreat offers also suit individuals and couples seeking a legal, guided psilocybin experience in the Netherlands.

What do you need before you start?

For practitioner training, ETI welcomes mental health professionals, therapists, coaches, medical practitioners and others with relevant backgrounds in care, facilitation or personal development, with entry requirements varying by programme. For retreats, applicants must complete a health screening questionnaire and online screening/intake; ETI excludes some people with conditions such as psychosis, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, severe depression, suicidal thought patterns, epilepsy and certain personality disorders.

Is Experiential Training Institute accredited?

ETI says its Practitioner Training is accredited by FGzPT, NVP and NVvP, and that it offers 14 Permanent Education points for members of NvP, NIP or FGzPT. The provider also states that the certification is not a licence or authorisation to practise psychedelic-assisted therapy outside current legal avenues.

How much does it cost?

ETI publishes programme pricing for 2026 in module form: the Education Module is €2,450 excluding VAT, the Experiential Retreat is €3,850 including meals and accommodation but excluding VAT, and the total programme is €5,750. It also says a flexible three-instalment payment plan is available; for retreats, published prices include a 3-day Amsterdam small-group retreat at €2,650 excluding accommodation and VAT, and a 3-day Culemborg small-group retreat at €3,250 including accommodation and excluding VAT.

What do you walk away with?

Learners walk away with an accredited practitioner training certificate and the ability to integrate psychedelic-informed practices into professional work within legal boundaries. The curriculum is designed to build competence across the full arc of psychedelic care, including screening, preparation, dosing-day facilitation, integration, trauma-informed practice and experiential understanding of both participant and facilitator roles.
