Fundación Beckley Med is a Barcelona-based psychedelic research and education organisation, partnered with the UK's Beckley Foundation, that funds and disseminates psychedelic-assisted therapy studies and provides professional training through institutional affiliations with MAPS, Grof Legacy, and CIIS. It collaborated with CITA Clinic to deliver experimental ketamine treatment to patients with treatment-resistant depression in Spain.
Beckley Med sits in the more research-led, professionally oriented end of the psychedelic training field rather than the consumer retreat space. Its lineage is strong, with clear ties to the Beckley Foundation and a Spanish base in Barcelona, but much of the publicly visible training appears to be short-form, introductory or specialist education rather than a fully regulated clinical qualification. It looks best suited to clinicians and adjacent health professionals who want grounded exposure to psychedelic-assisted care, with some programs leaning into music therapy, integration, and practitioner skills.
Best for nurses, doctors, therapists, and other health professionals who want an entry point into psychedelic care or a structured refresher. Some offerings also seem aimed at people interested in integration, research, or specialised modalities rather than only licenced psychotherapy work.
Varies by course. Beckley Academy states one route is for practising licensed mental health professionals or students with an existing foundation in psychedelic-assisted therapy, while another introductory route is for nurses, doctors, guides, coaches, or mental health professionals without significant prior knowledge. No universal licensure requirement is evident for all Beckley Med-branded offerings.
Beckley Academy states it does not currently offer CEUs for its programme. Its Essentials of Psychedelic Care course awards a certificate of completion, but the FAQ says this is an acknowledgement of educational achievement rather than a regulated licence to practise. The same FAQ says there is no federally recognised regulating body for psychedelic-assisted therapy training in the US and that Beckley Academy does not currently offer an Oregon-sanctioned training.
Publicly visible Beckley Med course pricing is modest for at least one offering, with a 10-week Introduction to Psychedelic Music Therapy listed at $200. On Beckley Academy, the FAQ notes some courses have no scholarships or payment plans, while others offer limited need-based tuition reductions, limited scholarships, and occasional group discounts. Additional costs may include required books, and in one course up to about $50 of materials.
Learners appear to leave with a course certificate, plus practical grounding in psychedelic-assisted care, integration, and related therapeutic skills. The emphasis is on professional development and applied competencies rather than a state-recognised licence or standalone clinical credential.
