Its strongest fit is for licensed clinicians and adjacent professionals who want relational, trauma-informed training grounded in the Beckley Foundation’s research ecosystem, but it is not itself a regulator or licensing body. The tone and faculty suggest a considered, ethically minded programme, though the public-facing marketing is quite polished and the claims are mostly about educational quality rather than externally validated outcomes.

Who Beckley Academy is for

Best suited to licensed mental health professionals, and in the broader introductory course also to other care professionals such as doctors, nurses, therapists, coaches, ceremonial practitioners, and harm reduction specialists. The main relational course appears to be aimed at people already working in therapeutic or legally authorised psychedelic contexts.

Prerequisites

For Relational Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy, participants must be licensed mental health professionals, trained through an accredited licensure pathway, or legally authorised ceremonial practitioners, with occasional exceptions considered by email. Applicants must complete a short written application and a 20 to 30 minute Zoom interview. Essentials of Psychedelic Care has no licensing requirement or application process.

Beckley Academy states it is an educational organisation providing professional development only, and is not a regulatory or licensing body. It says successful completion of Relational Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy results in a certificate of completion, but it does not currently offer CEUs or academic credit. It also says it is not Oregon-sanctioned and does not currently offer an Oregon-sanctioned PAT training.

Cost

The Relational Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy course is paid as a one-time full-price payment, with no payment plan, though Beckley says limited need-based tuition reductions, limited scholarships, and group pricing may be available; one partner page mentions a $1050 tuition discount. Extra costs for the relational course include two required books, roughly $60 total if bought, plus up to $50 of materials for the online immersion.
