Blossom’s read

Fireside Project sits closer to a peer-support and harm-reduction institution than a conventional course provider. Its strongest use is for people who want to learn by doing in a live support-line environment, or for practitioners who value supervision, live practice and culturally attuned care over a classroom-only model. The field recognition is real, with founder Joshua White and a training lineage rooted in peer support, the Zendo Project and support-line work, but its training is not an accredited clinical qualification.

Who is Fireside Project for?

Best for people who already have psychedelic experience and want hands-on training in peer support, integration and crisis response. It also suits clinicians or helpers who want to deepen psychedelic harm-reduction skills, though it is not framed as a licensure pathway.

What do you need before you start?

Volunteers must have had their own psychedelic experiences. Fireside says there are no specific required degrees or formal qualifications, but applicants should be grounded, compassionate, emotionally attuned and culturally competent. Volunteers also need to commit to a full year on the support line and complete the full Zoom and self-paced training.

Is Fireside Project accredited?

Fireside Project does not publish accreditation, licensure or formal continuing-education credit for its volunteer training. Its coaching service is branded as Fireside-Certified, but that is an internal company credential, not an external professional accreditation.

How much does it cost?

The volunteer training is free. Fireside says there is an opportunity to contribute to training costs if inspired, but it does not publish a single programme price because the volunteer route is offered at no charge.

What do you walk away with?

Learners complete a year of supervised psychedelic peer-support work and training in active listening, ethics, confidentiality, boundaries, suicidality, trauma-informed care, culturally attuned care, tripsitting, integration and self-care. The broader ecosystem also offers paid, long-term psychedelic coaching through Fireside-Certified coaches.
