This workshop examines the historical development of psychedelics in Canada, current MDMA and psilocybin research, and the provincial and federal legal frameworks affecting psychedelic therapy in Alberta. Topics also include consent requirements, uses of psychedelic medicines such as psilocybin, MDMA, and ketamine, therapist self-care, and continuing education pathways. The program is structured as four live lectures with breaks across a one-day, in-person format. Sessions address the history of psychedelics; regulations, legalities, and ethics; psychedelic medicines; and the skills, self-care practices, and therapeutic models relevant to psychedelic-assisted therapy.
