Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Guided Externship Program

The Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Guided Externship Program is an 8-week in-person externship from the Institute for Integrative Therapies. It is designed for practitioners who have completed IIT’s 4-day online training, or comparable training elsewhere, and who are seeking to join IIT in providing ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. The program covers fundamentals of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, including ketamine’s mechanisms of action, safe delivery of KAP, and general psychedelic research. Participants attend weekly case consultation meetings with IIT Medical and Mental Health Leadership, two individual consultations during the first eight weeks, and four 90-minute didactic/consultation groups. The externship also includes shadowing of IIT medical and therapy staff in preparation therapy, ketamine medicine therapy, and integration therapy.
