8 Hours
The Introduction to Psychedelic Autism is an online course for facilitators, therapists, guides, sitters, and coaches interested in exploring the past, present, and future of psychedelic-assisted care options for autistic adults. The course includes lectures, a curated bundle of peer-reviewed publications, and the opportunity to connect with other like-minded professionals through online Zoom discussions and a private message group. By the end of the four-week course, students will have a wide-reaching perspective on established research and an enhanced ability to understand, accommodate, serve, and support autistic individuals in a variety of ceremonial, session-based, and coaching-related psychedelic contexts.
The course lectures and associated reference materials provide a foundational understanding of autism, psychedelics, and the relevant intersections of the two. The course material includes essential terms, statistics, and definitions, as well as a deep dive into a wide variety of relevant clinical investigations completed during both the pre-prohibition and modern "psychedelic renaissance" eras of research.
Each enrollment includes access to four weekly, 2-hour-long group learning Zoom sessions, video replays of all four live Zoom learning sessions, digital copies of all live lecture slide decks from each of the four sessions, 25+ PDFs of relevant, peer-reviewed papers organized in a curated research archive, streamable audiobook editions of "Autism On Acid" and "Autistic Psychedelic" and a private online networking group to connect with other Psychedelic Autism Professionals.
The course is primarily designed for academics and professionals who want to learn about and eventually work in the emerging field of psychedelic care for autistic individuals (Psy-Aut Care).
Founded in 2020, the Autistic Psychedelic Community (APC) is a Los Angeles-based peer support and co-learning network focused on the intersection of psychedelics and neurodivergent conditions including autism and ADHD, offering psychedelic integration support, panel discussions with researchers, and academic partnerships. Cited in peer-reviewed research, the APC promotes neurodiversity-affirming approaches to psychedelic practice and safe access.
