Healing the Healer is a workshop focused on therapist self-care in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and other clinical settings involving non-ordinary states of consciousness. The course examines compassion fatigue, vicarious traumatization, burnout, secondary post-traumatic stress, and the role of preparation and post-session processing in reducing countertransference stress. The workshop brings together clinical theories, traditions, and philosophies related to self-care, with attention to practical tools that health professionals can incorporate into their work. It is described as appropriate for healthcare professionals as well as the general public. The program includes presentations and two hours of self-care activities that do not earn continuing education credit. A total of six continuing education credits are available for the course.
