Working with inner healing intelligence

The manuals converge strongly on the idea that healing is rooted in the participant’s own innate capacity, often described as inner healing intelligence, inner wisdom, or an inner healer. Across the extracts, therapists are positioned as facilitators or supporters rather than the source of healing, and the model is presented as non-directive, receptive, and respectful of spontaneous unfolding. Several manuals also link this stance to trust in timing, surrender, curiosity, and the meaningfulness of material that emerges during treatment. Where they differ is mainly in emphasis and framing. Some manuals explicitly contrast the approach with goal-driven or highly directive therapy, while others focus more on practical therapist language, such as preparation and in-session phrasing that reinforces receptivity. The 2021 extracts place somewhat more emphasis on explaining inward focus, somatic processing, and spontaneous emergence, while the other manuals more directly stress avoiding therapist overreach, dependence on therapist authority, or the assumption that external intervention is required unless clearly indicated.
